Trip Highlights

  1. Cultural Immersion: Engage with the Layaps, learning about their unique customs, traditional attire, and nomadic way of life. This will include living in traditional tents (woven out of yak’s hair), homestays, and dining in the traditional Layap cuisines.
  2. Spiritual Guidance: every night or so, a Buddhist monk will guide meditation sessions for the visitors to end the night formally. The Buddhist monks will also offer religious prayers for the visitor’s well-being and good karma.
  3. Nature’s Bounty: Witness the untouched beauty of Laya, surrounded by pristine landscapes, dense forests, and towering mountains. Bathe in hot springs and trek untamed snow-capped mountains.
  4. Gasa Dzong: Explore the historical fortress of Gasa, offering a glimpse into Bhutan’s architectural heritage.

Itinerary (16Days & 15Nights)

Day 1: Arrival in Paro

- Arrive in Paro and be welcomed by our experienced trekking guide.

- Acclimate to the altitude with a leisurely afternoon exploring Paro town.

- Evening briefing on the upcoming trekking adventures.

Day 2: Paro to Shana (Start of the Trek)

- Begin the legendary Snowman Trek, one of the world's toughest and most rewarding treks.

- Trek from Paro to Shana, passing through lush forests and picturesque landscapes.

- Camp overnight in Shana, surrounded by the tranquillity of the Bhutanese wilderness.

Day 3-4: Shana to Soi Thang Thangka to Jangothang (Jomolhari base camp)

- Trek through alpine meadows and rhododendron forests, catching glimpses of the sacred Jomolhari peak.

- Cross the Nyile La pass and continue to Jangothang, offering breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks.

- Spend a day acclimating at Jangothang, with optional hikes to nearby ridges

Day 5-6: Jangothang to Lingzhi to Chebisa

- Traverse high mountain passes, including the challenging Sinche La.

- Camp near pristine lakes and remote villages, experiencing the nomadic lifestyle.

- Witness the rugged beauty of Bhutan's northern reaches and relish the solitude of the Himalayan wilderness

Day 7: Halt at Chebisa

- Leisure at Chebisa

- Experience the traditional lifestyle of the local people

Day 8-9: Chebisa to Jarila base camp to Tsharijathang

- Trek through landscapes dotted with yaks and encounter the unique culture of Laya & Lingzhi villagers.

- Descend through dense forests, encountering diverse flora and fauna.

Day 10-11: Tsharijathang to Lingmithang to Laya

- Reach the highest point at the trek

- Experience the increase in alleviation with the view of the infamous Tiger Mountain.

Day 12: Halt at Laya

- Relax and experience the yak herding culture of Laya

- Visit cultural and religious sites

- Experience the local cuisines

- End the night with a bonfire and performance of local songs and dance.

Day 13: Laya to Gasa

- Visit the Gasa Dzong

- experience homestays

- bathe in a hot spring

Day 14: Gasa to Punakha Valley: Post-Trek Relaxation

- Transfer to Punakha Valley for a well-deserved rest after the trek.

- Visit the Punakha Dzong and explore the serene Punakha town.

- Relax by the riverside, reflecting on the incredible journey

Day 15: Punakha to Paro through Thimphu

- Visit popular cultural and religious sites (Dochula, Buddha Point, & Memorial Chorten etc.,)

Day 16: Departure from Paro

- Bid farewell to Bhutan, enriched by the memories of the Snowman Trek, Dagala Trek, and other hidden trails.

- Depart from Paro with a heart full of adventure, cultural experiences, and the beauty of the Bhutanese Himalayas.
